Arising out of Indianapolis in early 2002, the four members of Devil To Pay have a sludgy, stoner rock influenced style that will lead you to believe these dudes are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Well, maybe I wouldn’t go that far, but their crunchy riffs and style of southern grunge will make ya think back to bands like C.O.C., Helmet and Black Sabbath.
Lots of bands have tried to pull off what these guys are doin and most fail miserably, with every song sound the same, over-producing their CD’s and a singer not worthy of a karaoke session. Devil To Pay put these bands to shame and deliver their music like an unexpected throat-punch. Each one of the tracks has it’s own catchy, yet doom charged chorus and guitar riffs worthy to be on the soundtrack to the end of the world.
