Taking their name from the legendary southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd’s drummer(Artimus Pyle), these guys seem to have taken the southern down home feel of the music in a whole different direction.
Singer Dave Slocum founded the band in 2001 with guitarist Jim Hall and soon found themselves gaining momentum, a loyal fanbase, and a record deal with DRT Records. With vocalist Slocum sounding like a raw throated Brian Johnson(AC/DC), the foot-stompin, knee slappin guitar riffs, and a drummer known for being a lunatic on stage, they played bills with bands such as Mastadon, Nashville Pussy, and Hank III before their internal disputes forced them to disban.
Their single self titled full length release can still be picked up on Amazon. So buy the CD, hop in a 68′ Charger with the farmers daughter, a bottle of Old Grandad by your side, and pound them all until you get hauled off to jail.
